This year has seen a number of exciting changes to the prestigious Savoy Gastronomes’ Olive Barnett Award.

Furthermore the format of the Call for Entries changed from a two to a three stage competition starting of with a two minutes video responding to the question:
"Why have you chosen a career in the Hospitality Industry, and why do you feel you should be considered to receive TheSavoy

The judges were not only stunned by the professionalism and quality of submissions received but also by the efforts and the originality that the candidates put in.

The selection of the short listed candidates to go through to the 2nd stage had been a lengthy and difficult one but the judges decided on the 20 best entrants who were notified and asked to submit their 750 word report. For further details please click HERE.

The finalists will be invited to a training & judging weekend experience which incorporates a careers presentation to the Judging Panel on 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th October 2010 at the SAVOY.

The Savoy Gastronomes' Olive Barnett Award was created by The Savoy Gastronomes in recognition of Miss Olive Barnett OBE, who pioneered excellence at The SAVOY. The principle sponsor of the Award is The SAVOY. The Career Development Grants are kindly donated by The Savoy Educational Trust. Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne kindly donates a week on their Lausanne Executive Education Programme for the Winner and a short course for both the First and Second Runners up.
