Entry Conditions
- Entrants to the Savoy Gastronomes' Olive Barnett Award must be under the age of 30 as at 25th September 2010; in permanent employment in any position that is primarily involved in a customer facing role in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry, anywhere in the United Kingdom.
- Each video submission must be accompanied by an up to date CV and an employer reference or testimonial.
- The report must be typed in English and either submitted electronically via http://events.springboarduk.net/sgoba/entry-form/ or sent by post to: The Savoy Gastronomes' Olive Barnett Award 2010, Springboard UK Ltd, 3 Denmark Street, London WC2H 8LP.
- If short listed, finalists must be available to take part in the Training & Judging Weekend experience on 22nd- 25th October 2010 at The Savoy.
- If you make it to the final stage, you will be asked to provide the Judges with evidence of the research you have carried out, in order to produce your report.
- For Finalists attending the Finalists’ weekend, travel expenses will need to be covered by themselves or their employers.
- The First Prize - Week long management programme in Lausanne - All expenses incured during this trip will come out of the first year Development Grant.
- Second and Third Prizes - Short course in Lausanne - All expenses incurred during this trip will come out of the first year Development Grant.
- All grants awarded must be linked to training/development and are dependent on the winners staying in the industry for the duration of their grant period. Subsequent year’s grants will be dependent on the recipient providing written evidence of how the existing award was spent and how it has enhanced their career, along with details on how they propose to spend the next year’s grant. All grants requested must be approved by the judges prior to being used, courses booked, trips taken etc. We cannot guarantee grant payment if this procedure is not followed. You will receive grant application forms to submit your grant request.
- Prize money from both years can be combined, but will need prior approval and confirmation by the Judging Panel.
- The Winner and First and Second Runners up will not be allowed to enter the Award in 2011 and 2012.
- The judge's decision is final and no correspondence/feedback can be entered into.
